Dear Sir/Madam,

I did not bring my Bible (your MYOB book) with me today and can you help me with a report?

I need to print off an employee entitlement balance for year end to date. Im using v12.5. If you could assist with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Karen

Dear Karen (and I'm a Madam, not a Sir!)

Here's the extract you're looking for:

12.32 How can I see how much holiday or sick leave employees are due?

Go to Reports, click the Payroll tab and select the Entitlement Balance [Detail] report. Click Customise and ask for All Employees. As the Period select Lifetime and, on the Finishing tab, choose whether you want to sort by employee name or by the type of leave. Click Display to view this report.

Classic mistake
A common mistake made with entitlement reports is to select Year-to-Date rather than Lifetime as the period. The Year-to-Date selection only shows the holiday or sick leave built up in the current year (ignoring any carried forward balances) and, therefore, is almost always wrong!
