MYOB AccountEdge

MYOB AccountEdge is the next step up from MYOB FirstEdge in the MYOB for Macintosh accounting software family. MYOB AccountEdge is a big step up from MYOB FirstEdge in terms of features, including essentials such as inventory management, supplier management and payroll.

Payroll is a must for any business that has four employees or more, simply because you’ll save so much time. No longer will you have to spend hours calculating tax, adding up super and working out holiday pay. Instead, entire pay runs take a matter or minutes, and you can print payment summaries at the click of a button.

MYOB AccountEdge (for Mac) versus MYOB Accounting Plus (for Windows)

MYOB AccountEdge is a Macintosh product. For the equivalent product for MYOB for Windows, visit the MYOB Accounting Plus page. If you have access to either a Mac or a PC, and you're tossing up whether to go for MYOB AccountEdge or MYOB Accounting Plus, there are a few small but important differences to consider:

  • MYOB AccountEdge doesn't link with RetailManager (that's MYOB's point-of-sale software), but MYOB Accounting Plus does.
  • The MYOB AccountEdge license allows you to access files remotely, but the MYOB Accounting Plus license doesn't.
  • MYOB Account Edge has multi-currency, MYOB Accounting Plus doesn't.
  • MYOB AccountEdge doesn't have any M-Powered features (allowing electronic payments directly from your MYOB company file); MYOB Accounting Plus does
  • MYOB AccountEdge doesn't integrate with any other third-party products; MYOB Accounting Plus integrates with hundreds. (See MYOB Add Ons for more details.)
  • MYOB AccountEdge allows both multiple warehouses and negative inventory (features only found in the high-end PC version of MYOB Premier Enterprise)

MYOB AccountEdge now also comes in a network edition, available for multiple users. See our MYOB for Macs multi-user page for more details.
