QuickBooks Accounting

QuickBooks Accounting is the next step up from QuickBooks EasyStart in the QuickBooks accounting software family. For an established service business that requires solid accounting, streamlined bank reconciliations and straightforward customer billing, QuickBooks Accounting is an excellent choice.  

QuickBooks Accounting 2008/09 is part of the new QuickBooks QBi series, with a new home page design that makes navigating around the software very straightfoward. You get customisable desktop displays, adjustable columns on almost every window, personalised icon bars and enhanced form templates, making it easy for you to adapt QuickBooks to fit your own needs. 

QuickBooks Accounting features

Some of the features that QuickBooks Accounting includes:

  • Keeps track of revenue and expenses
  • Produces basic financial reports, such as Profit & Loss reports and Balance Sheets
  • Provides your accountant with everything they need to do your end of year tax
  • Includes Google Desktop, making transaction searches and queries as easy as possible
  • Calculates GST and prints out a draft Business Activity Statement (either cash or accrual)
  • Generates invoices for customers and tracks how much you're owed
  • Tracks how much you owe to suppliers
  • Lets you email invoices and supplier remittances
And some of the features that QuickBooks Accounting doesn't include:
  • It doesn't keep include payroll
  • It doesn't keep track of inventory
  • It doesn't offer foreign currency
  • It doesn't have any payroll features
  • It doesn't allow for multiple users (more than one person working on your file at once)
  • The license theoretically doesn't allow for remote access

The price typically hovers around the $275 to $310 mark, depending on who has the best deal running right now.
