How do I record comission payments?
Unless your accountant specifically advises you otherwise, always record commission payments as employee pays (for more about calculating commissions, see Can MYOB calculate commissions?. If you record commission using the Spend Money or Enter Purchases commands, MYOB software can’t calculate PAYG tax or superannuation. You record salesperson commissions in exactly the same way as you record employee bonuses (see What happens with employee bonuses? for more details). However, although superannuation is not usually payable on one-off bonuses, it’s almost always payable on commissions — double-check carefully with your accountant.
